This book is about numerous teenagers who have immigrated to the U.S. and have had to adapt to the customs of America on their own. They have experienced discrimination and have focused their first years here on fitting in. One story that caught my attention was about a girl from Russia who, because she was a girl, was held back her parents. Once she came to America, she realized that she has the potential to become more independent. Throughout her experience, she figures out who she really is and what she wants to be while still staying true to where she came from.
